As the 2024 election cycle nears a conclusion, Georgia broadcasters continue to provide their communities with resources and information.
One such example is WJCL Savannah, who released a Voter Facts Guide that provides voters with key information on the election.
Broadcasters have once again proven the essential role they play in safeguarding access to free, unbiased information. Particularly in the case of Georgia, a key swing state in the Presidential election.
Polls close the evening of November 5, 2024 and coverage will continue throughout the night and potentially into the weekend as votes are counted to determine the winner.

The FCC is looking to adopt final rules for FM Geotargeting at its November 21 meeting.
FM boosters have been in an experimental geotargeting stage since the spring, when the FCC determined that stations could “broadcast unique content to hyper-localized listening areas” for 3-minutes per hour from its FM boosters.
Now, the commission is expected to adopt final rules for the practice.
The NAB has expressed concerns of implementing the technology, fearing that geotargeting will hurt small broadcasters by redirecting advertising business away from small market stations. Additionally, the NAB is not confident in GeoBroadcast Solutions’ (GBS) technology and its compatibility with the EAS system.
WSAV bid a happy retirement to longtime member of the sales team, Deb Webb.
Webb’s retirement was celebrated at the Hyatt in downtown Savannah to honor 24 great years of service to the station.

Leslie Whittle, current Program Director of KRBE in Houston, has been appointed to take on the role that Diaz has played. This will expand her current role, as she will continue to be based out of Houston.
