The Georgia Association of Broadcasters gathered again on February 28th during its annual “GAB Day at the Capitol.”
GAB members from across the state met with more than a dozen government leaders under the Gold Dome in Atlanta to discuss the significant work done by broadcasters in Georgia communities and the pressing issues that they face every day. This prestigious group of leaders included:
- Governor Brian Kemp
- Secretary of State Brian Raffensberger

President Pro Tempore John F. Kennedy
- House Majority Leader Chuck Efstration
- House Minority Leader James Beverly
- The Agriculture Commissioner Tyler Harper
- The Insurance Commissioner John King
- Several other representatives and senators
In addition to the time that the GAB spent with these officials, we are also pleased to announce that the broadcasters of Georgia received special proclamations from the Office of the Governor, the Georgia State Senate, and the Georgia House of Representatives. These were also in observation of the Association’s 90th Anniversary celebration.
Says GAB President Bob Houghton, “This year’s session has been extremely busy and we are appreciative of all the leaders that took time out of their days to meet with us. Once again, the Day at the Capitol highlights the importance of the relationship that our government leaders have with the broadcasters from their respective communities. Representing the legislative interests of our membership is one of the most important aspects of the GAB’s mission. Once again, it was a great day to be a broadcaster in Georgia!”
