Tegna has appointed Kristie Gonzales president and general manager of its Atlanta duopoly of WXIA (NBC) and WATL (MNT), effective Oct. 23.
For the past eight years, Gonzales has been president and general manager of Tegna’s ABC affiliate KVUE Austin, Texas. Since 2021 she has served as vice president of media operations at Tegna, overseeing a number of Texas stations; Gonzales will continue in this position in addition to her new role in Atlanta.

I’m excited to get started in Atlanta with a team that’s renowned for their game-changing investigations and award-winning reporting,” says Gonzales of joining the 11Alive team.
