About WTOC:

WTOC serves 17 counties in Southeast Georgia, known as the Coastal Empire, and 3 counties in the South Carolina Low Country.

Job Summary/Description:

WTOC is looking for a full-time MMJ/Videographer to join our energetic and competitive news team. This position will include working as an Multi-Media Journalist on air some days and working as a videographer for other talent on other days. Because of this, the right candidate will need to be able to shoot, edit, interview, report, research information, and write for broadcast and digital platforms.

The right candidate must be able to do the following:

– Strong videography and non-linear editing skills a must
– Proven ability to interview and communicate well with members of our community
– Respond aggressively to breaking news
– Research and pitch story ideas
– Communicate updates to news staff and management
– Ability to operate microwave trucks and LiveU backpacks
– Ability to meet deadlines
– Strong navigational skills
– Must have excellent verbal and written skills
– Must work well with others

Qualifications/Requirements:

– Previous tv newsroom experience required
– A college degree in broadcast journalism or related field required
– Some on-air camera experience also preferred
– Valid Drivers License and able to complete MVR process successfully
-Able to shoot and edit stories, work with reporters, anchors, meteorologists and assignment desk
– Capable of gathering information and interviews when necessary, conducting online research
– Computer literacy required, including using ENPS news system
– Must be able to work well under pressure with limited supervision and meet daily deadlines

Qualifications
