Statewide Reporter/MMJ
Details:
Gray Television is looking for an experienced reporter to cover statewide issues for our Georgia markets (Atlanta, Albany, Augusta, Columbus, Savannah). The position is based out of our Atlanta newsroom.
Essential responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
– Pitch stories of interest to all Georgia audiences daily
– Lead statewide political reporter
– May cover significant events, major trials, sporting events
-Turn at least one package and one vosot per day
– Provide live shots or look-lives for all Georgia stations daily as requested, as well as SC, FL, and AL border markets with Georgia reach
-Typically a dayside shift, 10a – 7p – adjusted as needed

Experience:
– Bachelor’s degree in journalism, political science, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
– MMJ skills preferred
– A minimum of 5 years of reporting experience, significant political reporting preferred
– Must be extremely organized, an excellent time manager, and able to effectively prioritize
