Responsible for the conceptualization of all GFB companies in the external market. Provide leadership in planning, development, and implementation of all GFB marketing, strategic initiatives, communication efforts, and public relations opportunities within and outside the company. Responsible for creation, management and implementation of PR and advertising campaigns for all social media channels and mediums. Possess a goal to enrich the GFB brand and the company’s position within the public eye.
DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Under the direction of the Associate Director of Marketing and in accordance with strategic goals delineated by Georgia Farm Bureau Federation and Georgia Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Company, the PR/Marketing Strategist should develop, maintain and continuously evolve a marketing/editorial calendar for content pertaining to all social media platforms. The PR/Marketing Strategist should work in congruence with the Creative Lead and Media Buyer to ensure consistency and optimization of GFB’s branding guidelines. Promotion of insurance products/lines of business and ag industry/commodities will require the PR/Marketing Strategist to actively conduct research on company and industry trends.
In addition, the PR/Marketing Strategist will produce high-quality photography and video to be used in Georgia Neighbors Magazine, collateral and in-print/digital advertising campaigns for all GFB companies.
Attend meetings, conferences and events; shoot still photography as directed.
Attend meetings, conferences and events; shoot and produce video as directed.
Contribute photo and video content for Georgia Neighbors blog.
Work with Creative Lead to conceptualize and develop graphics for all social media posts.
Establish and maintain working relationship with GFB social media stakeholders including: Insurance, Certified Farm Markets, Public Policy, GFB Foundation for Ag, Member Services, Ag in the Classroom, YF&R, Land to Leadership, Women’s Leadership Committee, etc.
Provide a monthly report of social media analytics and engagement results for monthly board report.
Research branding opportunities for future deployment.
Contribute to strategic planning for all GFB Companies.
Prepare and present social media seminars at conferences, district meetings and for GFB members/industry partners.
Stage, prepare and provide direction for photo and video shoots.
Other duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATION, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications or a related field desired.
5+ years’ experience in marketing, public relations, communications, videography and photography.
Agriculture, farm and/or insurance background helpful but not required.
Ability to communicate as a spokesperson for the brand of Georgia Farm Bureau with consideration to the voice associated with each company; establishing tone that is consistent with mission and vision. Ability to write and proofread advertising related materials, checking spelling, punctuation and grammar.
Expert knowledge required with Mac or similar computer programs and proficiency in Word, Excel, and Power Point.
Knowledge of photography:
Ability to use different types of photographic equipment and photography software including Lightroom and Photoshop.
Understanding of artificial and natural lighting and how it affects different settings, shapes and skin tones.
A keen eye for detail and a well-developed artistic and creative aesthetic.
Properly light subjects using artificial or natural lighting and using flashes and reflectors where necessary.
Determine desired images and compositions and choose equipment, props, settings and lighting to achieve desired results.
Retouch, resize and enhance images as needed using Photoshop or other photography software.
Knowledge of videography:
Basic understanding of video using DSL camera.
Knowledge of editing:
Adobe Premier Pro
Frequent single-day travel, some overnight required.
Valid Georgia Driver’s License required.
The Information/PR Department requires employees to possess excellent interpersonal skills to help maintain relationships with farmers, Farm Bureau members, government officials, researchers and other professionals encountered in the course of this job.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Could be required to lift video equipment 20 pounds (or less).
