Title Federation – Public Relations – Graphic Designer

Description JOB PURPOSE:
Produce both print and digital deliverables for all Georgia Farm Bureau companies, including Federation, Mutual Insurance, Georgia Foundation for Agriculture, etc. Ability to take direction from written or spoken ideas and convert them into images, layouts and other designs. Provide creative ideas and design support for all Georgia Farm Bureau companies with an understanding of marketing campaigns and business to consumer interaction.

Acts as a knowledgeable brand guardian by having a strong understanding of look, feel, voice and overall brand presence for each of the aforementioned companies. Able to generate and provide new thinking when asked to update or address new design assignments.

Under the direction of the Creative Lead, the Graphic Designer will:
 Work with all Georgia Farm Bureau companies to develop graphics for use in print and digital.
 Layout and design Georgia Farm Bureau News Magazine.
 Layout and design The Grapevine.
 Layout and design annual GFB Policy Book.
 Layout and design internal events, included but not limited to Convention, YF&R Conference, etc.
 Prepare building and department signage and other signs as needed.
 Complete projects by coordinating with internal departments, vendors, etc.
 Maintain technical knowledge by attending design workshops; reviewing professional publications; participating in continuing education conferences.

 Contributes to strategic planning for all Georgia Farm Bureau companies.
 Photography as needed.
 Other duties as assigned by management.

 BA/BFA in Fine Arts, Graphic Design or High School Diploma with 3 + years’ Graphic Design experience. Must provide a demonstrable portfolio of work.
 Strong background in layout & typography.
 Understanding of graphic optimization for web, mobile and social platforms.
 Exceptional attention to detail
 Well-organized, a good communicator and a self-starter
 Multi-tasker, ability to work in fast-paced production environments
 Ability to think outside of the box and take innovative risks

Language skills:
Ability to write and proofread advertising related materials, checking spelling, punctuation, and grammar.

Computer Skills:
Expert knowledge with Mac or similar computer programs. Proficient in Adobe CS Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.) Word, Excel, and Power Point.

Intermediate understanding of digital photography.

Occasional travel, some overnight required; up to 20% annually.
Travel by vehicle and airplane.

The Information/PR Department requires employees to possess excellent interpersonal skills to help maintain relationships with farmers, Farm Bureau members, government officials, researchers and Farm Bureau colleagues encountered in the course of this position.



Work station at desk, in office environment, provided by company.
Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 20 pounds of equipment.
Must be able to kneel, squat, and crawl.
