We are looking for paid interns for a 10-week program during Summer 2024 to help us prepare for our annual convention (GABCON) and take part in our 90th Anniversary Tour!

Interns would be part of a dynamic, growing association in the broadcast industry that offers an exciting career-orientated opportunity. Interns must be willing to contribute to all of the functions necessary to complete the mission of the GAB. The best candidate will display initiative, creativity, digital aptitude, and the ability to adapt to the ever-changing challenges facing traditional and digital broadcast media.

 

Who We Are:
The GAB was founded as a trade association to represent the interests of Georgia’s over-the-air radio and television licensees. Today, our membership is comprised of more than 500 radio and television broadcasters who reach more than 95% of Georgia’s population every week. The GAB offices are located in the North Atlanta area, but our membership covers all 159 counties in the state of Georgia. The GAB provides technical, regulatory, and advocacy support to our members as well as offering continuing professional enrichment opportunities designed to keep Georgia broadcasters at the forefront of the industry.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with coordinating/execution efforts for GAB events
  • Engage and network with members
  • Assist with social media and website needs
  • Assist with administering member benefit programs
  • Update member contact information in database
  • Assist with Government and Member Relations efforts
  • Assist with mailings, print production
  • Provide staff support as needed

 

Requirements:

  • APPLICANTS MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK THE WEEKEND OF SEPTEMBER 6th – 8th.
  • Experience with digital social media marketing
  • Graphic design experience a plus
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as exemplary people skills
  • Experience with video editing and WordPress
  • A passion and curiosity for the broadcast industry
