Job Summary/Description:
WANF is searching for a dynamic and creative Digital Content Executive Producer to help take our digital platforms to the next level. The successful candidate will report to the Digital Content Manager and lead the daily news coverage with a “digital first” mindset. We’re looking for a leader who will assert his or her voice across all parts of the newsroom, representing all things digital. We need someone who will think big and act urgently.
Duties/Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
– Works with the Digital Content Manager to develop coverage plans and special content plans
– Help oversee and expand our innovative OTT, digital and social media content
– Guide the digital team by prioritizing tasks, assigning stories and copy editing
– Contributes to digital content by writing web stories daily
– Assist in training and providing valuable feedback for the news team
The successful applicant also will have these attributes –
– Excellent writing and copy-editing abilities in adherence with AP Style guidelines.
– Video editing skills.
– Demonstrated video sourcing and production abilities.
– Intimate familiarity with content management systems.
– Demonstrated ability to adjust strategy and implementation based on evolving needs.
– Ability to work with others to achieve a common goal.
– Excellent verbal and written communication.
– Ability to tailor content production to target specific distribution platforms, including social media.
– Knowledge and understanding of the latest social media platforms and trends.
Qualifications/Requirements:
– Applicants need a degree in journalism or a related field or 5 years of comparable work experience.
– A minimum of two years of managing a team at a local news or network news organization is preferred.
