About WTOC: WTOC-TV is the Gray Television-owned CBS affiliate in Savannah Georgia, servicing 20 counties in the South Georgia Coastal Empire and three counties in the South Carolina Lowcountry. Job Summary: WTOC TV, the dominant CBS affiliate in Savannah, GA, is seeking an experienced investigative anchor/reporter to join our team. The right candidate will not only love local news, but have a positive attitude, a hard work ethic, excel at writing for both broadcast and digital platforms, and be a team player. Applicant must also have outstanding live and breaking news skills, superior editorial judgment, experience in investigative journalism, the ability to enterprise stories, be capable of communicating effectively with audience and staff and have proven leadership abilities. This position is just as much about investigative reporting as it is anchoring, so please only apply if you have a passion for daily storytelling and being out in the field. General Responsibilities (include, but not limited to): – Turn investigative content on a regular basis – Anchoring at least one Monday-Friday newscast – Ability to fill-in anchor on other newscasts as needed – Be able to interview, write, edit, and report on air – Ability to work as an MMJ and shoot video for self if needed – Ability to run own live shots via a LiveU backpack or mobile phone if needed – Writing digital versions of broadcast stories – Posting regularly to social media platforms – Help producers with getting newscasts together
Requirements:
