Georgia broadcast stations rally around their communities for the holiday season
In celebration of the holiday season, Georgia stations continue to show up for their communities through fundraisers, drives and events.
Over this past year, broadcasters have persistently served their communities through the good, the bad and the ugly. As 2024 comes to a close and the holiday season is upon us, broadcasters are giving back to the communities that give them their purpose each and every day.
Some examples of these services include:
- Clark’s Christmas Kids:
- For its 34th year, Clark’s Christmas Kids is providing foster children with gifts this holiday season.
- WTVM Toy Drive:
- For several years, WTVM has hosted a toy drive, collecting new, unwrapped toys that benefit families in need. Beneficiaries of the program are the Valley Rescue Mission and the Muscogee County Department of Family and Children Services.
- WSAV Holiday Hope:
- WSAV has partnered with the U.S. Marine Toys for Tots, the Savannah Salvation Army and Bluffton Self Help to ensure that all of the children of Savannah have toys to open on Christmas morning.
- Radio One Atlanta presents Winter Wonderland in partnership with the Taylor Law Firm:
- On Saturday, December 21, Radio One Atlanta, in partnership with the Taylor Law Firm, will be hosting a “Winter Wonderland.” The event features pictures with Santa, toy giveaways, bike raffles, car seat giveaways and more!

Holly Steuart, Vice President and General Manager of WTVM, is set to retire on December 31, 2024.
Steuart, who was recently announced as a member of the Class of 2025 GAB Hall of Fame, has spent the last four decades as a broadcaster. Earlier this year, WTVM was named as Station of the Year at the 2024 GABBYs Award Ceremony in Jekyll Island. Steuart has led the station for more than a decade.
The GAB congratulates Holly on this milestone and anticipates celebrating her 40 year career in March at the GAB Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony.
Going into its second decade of partnership, the Atlanta Hawks and Audacy have extended their partnership. This extension further cements WZGC-FM 92.9 The Game as the flagship station of the Atlanta Hawks.
Fans can tune into 92.9 The Game, or a number of their affiliate stations across Georgia, to enjoy game coverage. The Voice of the Hawks and member of the GAB Hall of Fame, Steve Holman is entering his 40th season with the team. Holman is joined by Mike Conti, Brand Manager of WZGC.

The FCC’s final open meeting of 2024 took place on Wednesday, December 11. A product of the meeting was a proposal to update rules applicable to broadcast stations.
