The University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business hosts an annual “Economic Outlook” tour each year. This year’s tour was the 41st of its kind, traveling across the state of Georgia to “provides business and community leaders with reliable, research-backed insights from the University of Georgia Selig Center for Economic Growth.”
Each stop on the Economic Outlook tour provides insight to the national, state, and local factors that will effect economic trends in the following year.
The Georgia Association of Broadcasters (GAB) regularly takes part in the series, working closely with Terry College as a season long program sponsor. The Economic Outlook tour provides the opportunity for the GAB to connect with broadcasters from each major market. Attendees take part in a networking lunch and presentation.
From Dec. 11, 2023 through Feb. 15, 2024, the GAB attended seven of the eight events in Atlanta, Macon, Augusta, Savannah, Columbus, Athens and Albany. More than 3,000 people were attracted to the series over the course of the eight sessions.
Furthermore, the GAB used this time to visit with the stations of each major market to discuss upcoming GAB events, refresh member stations on current benefits and show support to broadcasters.
