Career Fair Description
This event is presented in partnership with the Georgia Association of Broadcasters and Grady College.
This day-long event connects companies and organizations with students seeking careers in digital, print and broadcast journalism, creative mass media, media sales, advertising and public relations. Students who attend are typically seeking internships and full-time positions.
Employers will have the opportunity to meet and network with students through a variety of events beyond the career fair, including a networking luncheon, and panel event discussions with student audiences.
You will be able to connect with students in the following areas of study: Advertising, Entertainment and Media Studies, Journalism, Public Relations; New Media Certificate, Public Affairs Communications Certificate, Sports Media Certificate; English, Consumer Journalism, Marketing, Communications Studies.
9:30 -10:45 a.m.— Career Panel Event, Session 1 (topic TBD)—Hosted in the Peyton Anderson Forum in the Journalism Building
11:00 a.m. -12:15 p.m.— Career Panel Event, Session 2 (topic TBD)—Hosted in the Peyton Anderson Forum in the Journalism Building
12:30-2:00 p.m.— Networking Luncheon with students and employers—Hosted in Tate Grand Hall
2:00-5:00 p.m.— Journalism and Mass Communication Career Fair—Hosted in Tate Grand Hall

Once the Career Center approves your registration (can take 24-48 hours) you will receive an invoice with payment instructions.
• Check your spam and junk folders to ensure that emails are not being filtered out.
• Check with your IT department and ask them to whitelist Handshake or check for quarantined emails.
• Add handshake@notifications.joinhandshake.com to your email contacts or address book.
IMPORTANT NOTES ABOUT REGISTRATION FOR FIRST-TIME HANDSHAKE USERS
For first-time users, you will need to create your personal account and link to your employer’s Handshake page before you can register for the fair. (This is a one-time-only process.)Click on “Create an Account” above and then “Employer” on the resulting page. To create your personal account, enter your information, email and create a password. Handshake will send you a confirmation email to verify your credentials. Check your email and click the link to confirm your account. Back in Handshake, follow the steps to set up your account, search for your employer and link to that account. (If your organization is not in Handshake, you will create its employer page.) Students and alumni will see these pages when searching in the system.You can also request access to University of Georgia during the sign-up process, notifying us that you would like to post jobs with us in the future.
After you link to your employer or create your employer’s account, you’ll be on the home page of Handshake. On the left-side navigation bar, click on “Fairs.” Search for “University of Georgia” on the resulting Career Fairs page, and click on our career fair to complete registration.
