Broadcasting Excellence Celebrated at Georgia Association of Broadcasters’ 90th Anniversary Event In Augusta
Augusta, Georgia – May 22, 2024 – The Georgia Association of Broadcasters continued its celebration of broadcasting during the 90th Anniversary Roadshow with a stop at the home of the Masters in Augusta!
The show was hosted by Richard Rogers and Brad Means, two beloved television anchors within Richmond County.
Richard Rogers has been in the market with the News 12 Team at WRDW-TV since 1993 and adds more than 43 years of industry experience. Brad Means is the distinguished co-anchor of WJBF NewsChannel 6’s weekday newscasts at 5, 6 and 11 p.m. He also hosts the weekly show, “The Means Report.”
The Augusta Roadshow event highlighted the accomplishments of various recognized figures in the broadcasting industry and honored several esteemed individuals from various reputable broadcasting stations in the region. The event also honored community entities within Augusta including, the James Brown Foundation and the Augusta Fire Department.
One spectacular highlight of the afternoon included a $2,500 donation to the James Brown Foundation from the GAB, which was received by Brown’s granddaughter, Sarah Brown Fegan. The James Brown Foundation is a non-profit organization based in Augusta, Georgia that is dedicated to preserving the legacy of music legend, James Brown, and giving back to the community that surrounds it. The Foundation aims to assist underprivileged children and impoverished families through their initiatives and projects, and they plan to use the GAB’s donation to continue those pursuits.
The GAB considers it a sincere privilege and honor, to recognize such influential individuals in broadcasting within the Augusta community. We look forward to continuing our Roadshow Tour in Columbus, Georgia on June 11, 2024.
