ATLANTA, GA, Feb 5, 2025- Today the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation passed S. 315, the “AM Radio for Every Vehicle Act” out of committee. The act is now eligible again for a full Senate vote.
GAB President Randy Gravley said, “I’m very thankful for all the bipartisan cosponsors and the quick work on getting this legislation introduced and passed out of committee. The GAB and our members look forward to working to get the AM Radio for Every Vehicle Act passed in the 119th Congress.”
This legislation would ensure that customers maintain access to AM radio in new vehicles sold in the United States.
Chairman Carr released the following statement regarding Wednesday’s decision:

Initially introduced in May 2023, the AM Radio for Every Vehicle Act advanced through both the Senate Commerce Committee and the House Energy and Commerce Committee last year. Even with 271 co-sponsors in the House and a supermajority of 63 in the Senate, the bill was never scheduled for a vote.
The GAB will keep you updated on the latest developments with this legislation.
