On August 15, 2024, the Georgia Association of Broadcasters announced the retirement of longtime President, Bob Houghton, who is to be succeeded in his position by Randy Gravely on September 1, 2024.
Houghton has served as the President of the GAB for 12 years, with a career in broadcasting spanning over five decades. In his role, Houghton was a key player in establishing the GAB’s educational foundation; re-introducing the organization’s annual convention; and guiding the association, and its members, through unprecedented times.
Randy Gravely, former President & CEO of Tri-State Communications, Inc., will be stepping into the position beginning on September 1, 2024. The Cherokee County native brings more than 30 years of broadcast experience to his new role.
“It’s an extraordinary honor and privilege to be named the next President of the Georgia Association of Broadcasters. I’m excited to continue in the footsteps of Bob Houghton and look forward to working with the tremendously talented and dedicated radio and television broadcasters across the great state of Georgia.”
